What we do in the mindfulness shadows

The WHAT skill is intended to teach us what we do when mindful. We observe we describe, and we participate. Like all of the DBT skills, the what skill is best learned through practice. The WHAT skill helps us take hold of our minds with observation, being descriptive of our surroundings, and participating in the present moment. It can be refreshing to use the WHAT skill to right size you reactions and response to events.

Even now, this skills helps us note our progress in being mindful. The more we can practice WHAT, the easier it becomes to be in the present moment and mindful.

What about you? Do you have stories or resources that help you practice the WHAT skill of minfulness?
